How YOU Can Get Involved
The Cincinnati Youth Council for Suicide Prevention is always on the lookout for new members.. We are looking in hardworking, passionate, and involved local high schoolers with an interest in mental health awareness and suicide prevention. We are not currently recruiting for the current semester. However, you can submit an application that will be considered for the spring semester.
Information About the Council
The YCSP is a youth-led organization of about 15 high schoolers from 7 different schools in the area. We advise researchers in the emergency department on their suicide screening process and also conduct our own research and actively partake in outreach activities for suicide prevention. For instance, just this year we organized and hosted a gala to raise money for mental health education. We hope to implement this money into our plans for next year!
The council meets every other Sunday at 1-3pm from September to May at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in Clifton. We have breaks over the winter holidays and summer vacation. As a member, you are required to not miss more than three meetings (unless for extenuating circumstances). Time in the council counts towards volunteer/service hours through your high school.
